1/Can you introduce yourself?
自己紹介をして頂けないでしょうか。

Hi, I am Shogo KARIYAZAKI.
I am a flower artist with my basis in Japan as well as a flower classroom president.
I also collaborate in many private exhibitions and flower art.

こんにちは、假屋崎省吾です。
華道家（フラワーアーティスト）として、日本を拠点に活動しています。
また、假屋崎省吾花教室主宰でもあります。
多くの個展や花とアートのコラボレーションもしています。

2/Why did you start this job?
なぜ、この仕事を始めたのですか？

It was innate.
My parents are very fond of gardening. I entered the university and started attending flower art classrooms.
I found it very interesting when I started and while opening private exhibitions I received many offers related to flower art. That was the beginning that continues till today.

自然にこうなりました。
父親、母親が非常に園芸が好きで、大学へ入って花の教室へ通って、レッスンを始めました。
始めて見たら、とてもおもしろくて、知らず知らずに個展を開いている内に、いろいろな花のオファーがあり、それがきっかけで現在につながっています。

3/Tell us about your most favorite works.
今までで、一番お気に入りの作品を教えて頂けないでしょうか。

They are "HANA GATAMI" and "HANA GOYOMI".
"HANA GATAMI" joins in one the work about ten years and "HANA GOYOMI" is an entire new work just off the shelf.
These two works are collections in which I have put all my heart.

「花筺」と「花暦」ですね。
「花筺」は、10年分くらいの作品を1冊にまとめたもので、「花暦」は、すべて新作で撮り下ろしです。このふたつは、非常に思い入れがある作品集です。

4/What is your most impressive exhibition?
今までで、一番印象深い展覧会は何でしょうか？

It is an exhibition in Meguro Gajoen that still continues today.
It is an annual exhibition that will be held in Meguro Gajoen in autumn this year too.
And to celebrate my 25th anniversary as flower artist next year, I will hold several exhibitions in various places.

今でも、続けているのが、目黒雅叙園での展覧会です。
これは、毎年行われている展覧会で、今年もまた、秋に目黒雅叙園で展覧会を実施します。
そして、来年は、私の華道歴25周年記念になるので、各地で展覧会実施されます。

5/What do you want to do in the future?
これからは、どんなことをやっていきたいですか?

I want to collaborate with artists of various different genres and put flowers in world cultural heritages.
I want to keep creating pieces of art that impress everybody.

様々な異ジャンルのアーティストの方々とのコラボレーションや、
世界文化遺産に花をいけたいと思います。
皆様に感動して頂ける作品を作り続けていきたいと思います。

6/What is your favorite music?
好きな音楽は何ですか？

I love classics.
Especially, I like piano melodies.
I like Chopin, Liszt, Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Rashmaninoff, Scriabin, Szymanowski, Ravel, and Debussy, etc.
I also like chansons because of Akihiro Miwa's influence.

クラシックが大好きです。
特にピアノ曲。
ショパン、リスト、シューマン、チャイコフスキー、ラフマニーノフ、スクリャービン、シマノフスキ、ラベル、ドビュッシーなどピアノ曲が大好きで、美輪 明宏さんの影響でシャンソンも好きです。

7/How do you think the flow of digital will evolve?
これからのデジタルの流れについてどうなっていくと思いますか？

It is unimaginable and it gets conveniently fast.
It also seems to be becoming artistic.
In our life, I think that it is very speedy and makes our life efficient.
I believe it needs to become artistic too. I trust in miniaturization and simplification; I am looking forward to the future.
I also look forward to being able to express my art pieces digitally and If there is any chance, I want to include digitization.

もう想像もつかないですね。
どんどん便利になっていきますね。
そして、アーティスティックになっていっていると思います。
やはり、人間が暮らす上で、非常にスピーディー、効率よくしてくれていると思います。
これには、アート性が、必要だと思いますね。それに小型化もされ、みんなが簡単に使えるようになったらと思います。とても楽しみですね。
そして、自分自身の作品をこういったデジタルで表現していくことができるのは、楽しみにしています。それに、私自身も何かチャンスがあれば、取り込んでいきたいと思っています。
